全球火灾地图集(2003-2016)
全球火灾地图集是一个新的可免费使用的全球数据集,它跟踪单个火灾的日常动态,以确定点火的时间和地点、火灾规模和持续时间,以及每日扩张、火线长度、速度和蔓延方向。数据以容易获取的GIS图层形式提供,也可以在这里进行在线探索,Andela等人(2019)对基本方法进行了详细描述。

这些数据提供了对引起世界上最极端野火的环境条件的独特见解。世界上最大的野火出现在澳大利亚内陆、非洲和中亚地区人口稀少的干旱和半干旱草原和灌木丛中。令人震惊的是,在北美洲和南美洲的类似生态系统中,几乎没有这些比例的火灾,这可能是由于较高的景观破碎化和不同的管理做法,包括积极的灭火。
